Wow, Nintendo sure knows how to keep me salty. Where is DT? I love that game. There isn't a good excuse to ignore DT since it's its predecessor and is on the 3DS.

Have you seen "The Mario Problem" by TheLonelyGoomba? It really explains my problem with the Mario games recently. The video explains it better than I could ranting on the internet about it.

IGN Said in their review that they enjoyed color splash more than stacker star, then give it a lower rating. Logic.

They gave PJ a lower review score than SS. IGN has just become a joke nowadays.

I know the guy but hadn't seen it until you mentioned it: despite my not having seen it, Lonely Goomba's positions are extremely similar to mine. I'll add that even if the Murphy series becomes good again, that video won't be pointless; it's a valid complaint at a time when creativity was considered bad/"weird" and the series was dumbed down (to be “child-friendly” perhaps?).

Yeah. Too bad that kids play the games that have a "M" label to try and be cool. Or whatever most older people play. So I think advertising and targeting games to be child friendly and what not actually can backfire pretty badly. And thank you for being so patient with me whenever I vent about things like this. :)

Exactly. XD Kids want to play the "edgy" games with lots of violence that they think are "mature". I also noticed the problems of them not making any of the NSMB games to have online co-op, or even allowing you to have CPU allies. Seems like they want to make the series only for cookie-cutter perfect families with normal social circles and that pisses me off. I love venting, so vent away. :D

Yeah, I would probably vent more if I had a activity feed to post in, but Nintendo has gotten rid of that. Which is ironic, since they're trying to minimize off topic post. Let alone not every game on here has a community or a community to talk about more topics in general. Or just to talk to others. It's not always good to post a controversial opinion (especially on the internet.)

If it was up to Nintendo, the only thing we'd talk about was how many coins we got in NSMB2. The internet is full of annoying people, but sometimes our voices have to be heard; unfortunately somebody has to speak up, or we'll be overran by the power of cookie-cutting.

Yeah, I used to think so much more of them. It's obvious now that they know of the backlash, but really don't care what fans think if it requires more work when it comes to the end of the day. They even apparently "celebrated" PM on twitter. I can't see the comments from people on the post, but in the post they were showing how everyone was-o-so excited about it. Really, Nintendo?

Same; I grew up with Nintendo games, so I always thought they were a great company. Things have sadly changed, even though I still enjoy a lot of things they make, to the point of using this site frequently. I thankfully don't follow them on Twitter; that sounds pretty sad, that they act like this is a game of the "Paper Mario series" and that the backlash is nothing to them.

I wouldn't be nearly as mad if SS and CS were spin-offs. Or if Nintendo acknowledged the fans in a way that doesn't say "you're wrong." It's true that SS sold a lot of copies, but many of those people were fans of the older games and were thinking it would be like the original style. Don't forget the 3DS is a popular system, and they advertised it a lot and was the return of the old game style.

Not to mention SPM even sold better than SS. So by that logic of gaining money they should of sticked with the 3rd games style. Funny thing is Intelligent Systems actually listened to the fan's complaints and were going to turn to the older style, but we all know how that went.

Yep; similarly, PiT brought some different things I didn't like, but 'twas just meant to be different, + I knew there would be better things after it. I was one of those series fans who gave SS a chance 'cause I love Paper Mario, it couldn't be THAT bad (it was). Sales are tied to the system; going by their logic, the SPM that those "normal" Mario lovers so much hate sold more than their SS.

It was a side scroller with RPG elements and a big story. Many that bought it thought it was like a NSMB game but with a different art style. Yeah, that didn't turn out to be the case. At the time I thought the same thing because I didn't really pay attention to Paper Mario or M@L games. Just the 3d games, and MK. Still didn't really care about the 2d games though. Only one I actually liked was

the original NSMB. And ya'know, when it actually was new. And it had the 2 player vs mode and minigames! I'm still not a fan of side scrollers, but I have much more respect to this game than its sequels.

Yep, NSMB by itself wasn't a bad idea, it was actually cool. Even if its sequels spawned with their repetitiveness, I still wouldn't mind because I'm mainly a RPG series player. I do enjoy 2D gaming, I grew up with it after all. But adding more things and depths to games is something I like even more, and Nintendo decided that this is a bad thing...

Let's hope for change in the future. BotW and Sun and Moon seem refreshing, but aren't receiving negative backlash. Maybe that'll change when they release, but they seem pretty good to me. So they obviously still have the experience. Games like Splatoon show the potential for a new experience and even a world with lore to explore. So I still haven't lost all hope, not yet at least.

I agree with everything you said here. As a Pokémon fan since the beginning, I have enjoyed the latest games quite a bit. There are still many cool things to be enjoyed, and if there are lesser games to play, it at least means less damage to my wallet.
