-1st encounter: Failed with Mega Absol. -2nd encounter: It ran away after I failed to catch it after the 4th Great Ball with Super Catch Power. -3rd encounter: Caught after the 3rd Great Ball... and a Jewel to continue the battle. Hoooooooooooooooooly cow, my heart wouldn't stop pounding >< But hey, at least I finally caught Mesprit!

    They weren't kidding about calling it "The Being of Emotion", because I definitely felt a lot of emotions catching this thing >_< Anyway... another Safari complete! Team used: Mega Rayquaza, Giratina, and Jellicent (the last one is because I thought it'd help boost Mesprit's appearance rate).

    I don't think Jellicent would alter the encounter rates, but it was definitely a wise choice for minimizing opportunity cost on your Hearts.

    @Proƒ.Barry: I only brought Mega Rayquaza because I figured it'd help clear out some of the (barriered) Mesprit. It actually managed to do so during my second attempt, but it barely helped on my third (hence the Jewel). So honestly, it's a toss-up.

    So, you brought Jellicent because you thought it'd help boost Mesprit appearance rate? I remember you saying that nothing affects encounter rates. But hey, at least you caught it, that's the most important thing, so congratulations!
