What's the difference of Greninja V.S. Ash-Greninja? Also what / who is Ash-Greninja? Is it something from the TV Show / anime-ish program?

    Ash Greninja is from the anime yes. I don't watch it (anymore), but from what I understand, it's when Ash fuses with Greninja due the intense bond between the two. (Which makes me wonder why it doesn't happen with Pikachu)

    I wish people would actually look up the info. Ash ISN'T needed for Ash-Greninja, only a strong bond between a Greninja and its trainer.

    Besides why would it be named ASH-Greninja. Wouldn't it be TRAINER-Greninja? The mistake is easy to make, you don't need to be rude.

    It is named Ash-Greninja because it resembles Ash. It is a transformation similar to mega evolution but without the stones. It would look different if it was another trainer. So technically Ash is needed for Ash-Greninja.

    In the show's lore, Ash was never involved in the legend (meaning that Ash-Greninja existed before Ash's time).
