Sonic CD for 3DS

I want Sonic The Hedgehog CD for 3DS. If they do this, make it like the PS3 and Xbox ports.

    it would require a lot of work. i wouldnt count on it, but it doesnt hurt to ask. a lot. all of the classics are emulated cartridges while sonic cd is actually an iso image. youre likely to see s3&k before sonic cd,

    I personally prefer Sonic 3 & Knuckles but CD would be cool. There might be some problem with puting CD on Cartridge but I wouldn't know. The 3DS has had much more demanding games. It's whether SEGA cares or not. Isn't it Sonic's 25th anniversary this year? It would make sense to do something like that to celebrate.

    No Roy, DKC was also a cartridge. they pulled off DKC on a GBA. The Sega was ahead of its time but suffered poor sales. In theory, a sega cd had opportunities to be even better than an n64. sonic cd is a lot tougher than it sounds. name one virtual console game that originated as a cd game

    They have Xenoblade Chronicles which originated from a disc. Same for Donkey Kong Country Returns. Sonic CD is tiny by comparison.

    i agree with that. emulation is just so much different than porting. they could very easily put sonic cd on the wii u. but if you want sonic cd on a 3ds, it would likely work only on the new 3ds.

    the release on the ps3 was 355mb so thats a nice little chunk on 3ds hardware for just a virtual console release.

    you could argue that an original DS was more powerful than a sega cd. but sonic cd took up 355mb. i recently downloaded phantom hourglass and that was just 42mb so thats how much more work goes into a cd iso than a rom

    Actually, they did have several Turbo CD games on Wii's Virtual Console like "Castlevania Rondo of Blood." (Though, they're listed under "TurboGraf-X" games on the Wii Shop Channel.) So emulating disc games isn't impossible on Nintendo consoles. So Sonic CD isn't too impossible especially, sense it's a 2D game. It'd be cool if they included both soundtracks for the game.

    but thats it. they ran cd games on a console with cd hardware. the 3ds isnt cd hardware. they could do it super easy on wii u, or for that matter, the wii. but its still not enough for a 3ds

    "Rayman 3D" is actually a port of the Sega Dreamcast version of "Rayman 2: The Great Escape." That's a CD game ported to 3DS, so it's not impossible. So if it's an older game it might not be an issue. Might have to tweak the emulation a bit though. Game data on CD discs is a bunch of codes, just like on game cartridges/cards.
