    You gotta break his tail before you cut it, which is why it's so hard with lower rank equipment and the ricochets.

    Use a lance or a greatsword with decent sharpness and preferably water element, Longswords work too but are harder to focus damage on the tail at times.

    I use Switch Axe. It takes awhile, but it can be done.

    GS and SwAx are the easiest to chop tails off with. If you use the plesioth GS to put it to sleep a lvl 3 charge to the tail can cut it off really quick

    Db makes it hard to cut tails because you dont have a lot of vertical reach.
