They stood together and, with their combined strength, fought the wolves with tooth and nail. In passing, the Master Sword chose who would wield it and allowed itself to be pulled.
Origination of the Temple ruins:entire area was created when Link first drew the Master Sword in OoT. The sudden release of energy created copies of it and its surroundings.
The copies appeared in our world and the Master Sword, having a will of its own, created the trials so that one who was worthy may draw it and return to the time and place it was created.
