What really bugs me is that before the shops are even open when you become an adult, you get the special tunics for free. That being said. Why on Earth do the shops sell the tunics?!

    I have gotten eaten by a like like before in the fire tempel, I lost my red tunic and hylian shield but once I defeated it I got them back.
