Fishing tips anyone? I've been trying to catch “a real lunker” for the longest time, but the big fish just aren't biting. Is there a trick to this?

  • Fish are bigger as an adult. Use the iron boots and slowly walk underwater to see where a big fish is then cast in front of its mouth. Reel in slowly and hope it bites. Repeat until caught.

  • On the N64 big fish hung around this log (see center of picture). Also, time changes slowly in the pond. In the morning and/or while raining fish bite more often. It can start raining randomly inside.

  • Catch this fish, just beyond the log sticking out of the pond. Be patient. Put lure in front of fish's mouth, move it slowly & occasionally wiggle lure. If fish no bites, repeat.

  • Thanks guys. I've been trying for probably about two hours in all, still no luck. Just gotta be patient like when you fish for real I guess.

  • ARRGH! I was finally able to hook the big fish and fought for about two minutes reeling him in, when suddenly he just let go. How does that even happen?! I WAS SO CLOSE!

  • Jame, catching the really big fish is hard. Don't give up! Just keep trying. Try again tomorrow. They programmed him to be hard to catch. Plus fish can also break free on the line too :(

  • When I was reeling him in this morning I kept thinking "don't break free don't break free don't break free." I got lucky. I stop reeling in every now and then don't know if that matters.

  • I use the circle pad to keep the line mostly tight. Once you are reeling a fish in press the L shoulder button to change your view so you see Link & help you choose your direction on the circle pad.
