    If you have the 3DS version then there is no online mode, you need a WiiU with a LAN adapter and the Packet Relay Tool app to send the 3Ds online. The WiiU version does have online.

    u talk to the cat in the bottom left of the village to take u to network mode. going to the 'multi port' is not online. in network mode u can join or make lobbies.
