    It is. For the highest chance, do the DLC quest Colorful beasts. It has Nargacuga, Rathalos, and Jinouga in 1 quest. They all have severely reduced health, however.

    "Colorful Beasts" will give you a LOWER chance of rubies. It's a Hunt All Monsters quest, so carves will only give you Mega Potions.

    Just do a quest to hunt 1 or 2 Azure Rathalos. To improve the chances of getting rubies, make sure you cut & carve the tail, break the head, and capture.

    G rank (HR5-7) Azure Rathalos gives better odds than high rank. Silver Rathalos gives even better odds, but his quests are at HR8.
