I think the coolest thing about this game is u feel like a vampire hunter. The garlic, holy water, oak stakes, and magic cross u have to have to enter the ruins of castlevania. It had a old world feel

    would have been cool if u had to fight a vampire boss before u got Dracula's body part. stun him and then use the oak stake to finish him off then collect Dracule's body part.

    There is a remake of this game called Castlevania 2 Revamped that has boss fights before the body parts and updated graphics.It is also free to download on pc and mac.Awesome game!!

    I actually though Lords of Shadow had a similar old world feel to this one. This game really manages a distinctly gothic feel also, moreso than the other NES Castlevanias for me.

    @Dave I always thought the same about this game as well. It's atmosphere has alway stood apart from the other titles in the series. Not a big fan of LOS but its atmosphere goes back to old world feel.
