    Well if you don't what to get this game on the Wii U as well. Look up the Monster Hunter Packet Relay tool in ehop. Read instructions very carefully.

    First of all...Kelly, if you have the Wii U version of Monster Hunter, it's easy. Neko the cat at the far left of Moga Village is the key. Talk to Neko and select network mode.

    The cable is ethernet (cat-5 is good and cheap, $1 on amazon for a looooong cable). You also need a LAN adapter for the Wii U. Nintendo's official one works but the Nyko one is cheaper.

    If Nyko even still makes them. I wouldn't recommend buying a used LAN adapter. Some are slightly defective from user abuse.

    Only the Wii U has online play, but when MH4G comes to 3Ds, it'll have online play.
