Now I see why the Wii U version is in winter 2014, to avoid conflict with Mario Kart 8, and to give their servers some breathing room, imagine the fustercluck if both versions came out in summer.

    And of course people will buy the 3DS version, to hold themselves over until the Wii U version is out. Another reason why the 3DS one is coming out sooner.
