Anybody on here know about the Indoctrination Theory? What do you think of it?

  • It's okay. It wasn't the best since there was no Final Boss or anything like that.

  • Its nonsense, for people who don't understand the end. Everything the theory claims has an explanation. Plus the writers would never do that, and they've made comments eluding the ending happened.

I agree Ness. I've watched the videos and read some of the forum posts and there's nothing to the theory at all. It's just a group of people trying to force their ideas onto others.

  • Right, it's just for people who don't understand the game and the ending. Just from the information inside the game itself the theory is impossible. The so called inconsistencies can all be explained.

Exactly. I'm also in agreement that it's simply fan fiction. Demanding that it be the "true" ending is outrageous since there's only a small group that believes in it.

  • arguments can be made in favor of the theory, and there is even evidence that supports it...however, the way i interpreted the ending, i do not need the theory in order to understand it and feel it↓↓

  • is unnecessary and inconclusive at best...it is creative and interesting but that is about all it has going for it...

  • I don't feel there is any evidence that supports it. Just by reading the codex entry on indoctrination proves the theory wrong

I did find the theory creative and considered it one possible way to explain things. What turned me off was the claim that it was the only valid theory. That's like saying only my opinion matters.

We never see Shepard show signs of Indoctrination in either words or actions. Not once did he mention having a ringing in his ears. He also never thought of doing anything but destroying the Reapers.

  • What is the gist of the theory?

Simply put: The Indoctrination Theory claims everything that happens after you get hit by Harbinger's laser is a dream.

  • Oh jeez, i hate those 'cop-out' ideas. I remember the TV series Lost massively disappointed with this kind of rubbish. Writing at its very worst... I refuse to believe this happened in ME.

I think the writing was great for ME3. This fan theory has just as many, if not more, plot holes that people can refute.
