  • sns is kind of the redheaded stepchild in this series; it doesn't do much damage, it doesn't block well, and it doesn't really have any reach. LS and DS have better damage, and have better reach and speed, respectively. As to bow, you don't rely on limited ammo for effectiveness like the BGs, and the coats allow for versatility (bow can even drain stamina, cause knockout status, and cut tails.)

  • I'm also a SnS mainer, I‛ve killed many (If not every) monsters with it, even things like Savage Deviljho and Lucent Nargacuga (solo, BTW). I really hate when people say SnS is a useless or weak weapon, when in the right hands it can be as deadly as a Greatsword or Hammer.

  • I've solo'd g-rank with sns, it does do enough damage ( out surpasses dps on some occasions) to kill monsters, it's just heavily reliant on elemental/status

  • I actually disagree with people who says that sns is a noob's weapon, i mean, it is heavily reliant on elements so you will need to know the weaknesses of the monsters. Plus, you need to know where to actually hit a monster so you can give it enough damage cuz sns has a pretty low raw attack damage and slower hit rates then dual swords. It is good for noobs, but deadly in the hands of a pro.

  • I'm not saying that it can't be used effectively, what I am saying is that lances guard better, and longswords put out more damage, faster (and are also big on elemental damage.) Likewise with dual swords. At the end of the day, SnS is ok at a few things, but not particularly good at any; everything it does, there's a better option for it, and all you sacrifice is either lackluster blocking, or

  • i use dual blades due to their movement speed, even though they don't have much strength or sharpness, for the most part
