It doubles the EV gain a pokemon gets after battle but if you dont know what Evs are or what Super Training is then it wont be important to you

It doubles the Ev's(effort values) that you get from battling. If you need to know how those work let me know.

Basically whenever you defeat a pokemon (except online and Maison/Institute battles) your pokemon will get EVs for a certain stat based on the type of pokemon they beat. If you keep defeating certain types of pokemon, you can make it so that one of their stats will grow much faster than normal. Continued in next post.

You need 4 of a certain type of Ev to increase your stat by 1. For example: Zubat gives you 1 speed Ev, so fighting 4 Zubats gives you 1 extra speed. However, Pokerus would give you 2 rather than 1.

An example is battling Weepinbell, it will give my pokemon 2 attack EVs when beaten. A pokemon can have up to 510 Evs with a max of 252 in any stat meaning the most number of stats you can max out is 2. 252 + 252 = 504 which gives you 6 leftover EVs for a third stat. How EVs effect stats is that once you get a certain number of EVs, that stat will be 1 point higher than normal. Continued in next.

You also only get Ev's from battles that you would get Exp from. Different pokemon give you different Ev's and in different amounts, but this is where you would need to do some research(serebii.net is what I would recommend).

For a level 25 pokemon, you need 16 Evs in a stat to make that stat go up by 1 extra point. For level 50, 8 Evs = 1 stat point and for level 100s, 4 Evs = 1 stat point. With Pokerus, the Evs gained after battle gets doubled so the Weepinbell I mentioned earlier would give 4 attack Evs instead of 2. EV's are mostly invisible though. The only way you can see them is on the Super Training Screen

That screen shows your current EVs in the yellow hexagon and shows how many EVs you have before you're maxed out on the right bar. You can do Ev training in Super Training which is simpler but it takes longer because Pokerus doesnt effect it.

Yeah, a lot of people aren't aware of that. Just imagine how absurdly powerful a level 1 pokemon would be if it really were 4 Evs for a stat point at all levels instead of just at level 100. The Ev's needed for a stat increase scales itself for every level but I only mentioned 25, 50 and 100 because those are the common battle levels. 25 isnt but it shows how the EV system scales based on level

Yeah, it's kinda difficult to fully understand for people just learning about it. If you're interested you can even look up to see which pokemon give out which EVs. EV training is usually only done by competitive battlers though. They use Ev training to push their pokemon to the next level in battle.
