Flaire stepped off the gangplank lightly, giving looks to some of the more suspicious Bisharp. She turned to look at the other Pokemon and crossed her arms. "Well? Now what?"
06/23/2014 12:56 AM ·Spoilers
Flicks Castor and starts snapping his fingers. "Get up. Pokéwall awaits." Starts disembarking.
06/23/2014 12:59 AM ·Spoilers
Castor jolts awake. "Eh?" He looks around, a bit confused, but sees the stoic Bisharp and shoots them a devious wink. They flinch. He hops back up and slips his flask into his pack. "Well Flaire, now we bite this city before it has a chance to bite us." He stepped off of the gangplank, whistling a peppy tune.
06/23/2014 1:03 AM ·Spoilers
"I'm far tired of bread... Wheres a place for a man to get a honest meal..."
06/23/2014 1:03 AM ·Spoilers
Flaire stepped in his path. "Do you truly think it's a good idea to come into this city half-drunk?" she said mildly.
06/23/2014 1:09 AM ·Spoilers
Castor smiled widely. "My dear, I live life half drunk. It is much more pleasant than being faced with the brutality of reality." He grabbed a pouch of coins he had and weighed in in his hand. "Ladies and gentlemen, I have precisely enough gold, stolen of course, to get us by for a few days of merriment. Then we will have to slave like dogs. So let us enjoy the time we have."
06/23/2014 1:11 AM ·Spoilers
"Where do we start then? Is there sheltering for the poor?"
06/23/2014 1:13 AM ·Spoilers
Flaire studied him, then let out a slow breath. "I have fourteen silver coins," she said as she tapped her satchel. "The rest were spent for the boat fare. I'll be so kind as to add it to the fund."
06/23/2014 1:16 AM ·Spoilers
Castor thought for a bit and then flagged down one of the Bisharp guards. "Oy! Where will refugees find their housing?" The Pokémon laughed in his face. "The slums, boy. Five to a home... And looks like you have your five." He pulled out a small metal key and threw it at Castor's feet. "Number 17, leeches." He turned and strutted off.
06/23/2014 1:19 AM ·Spoilers
Castor picked it up and turned to the group. He slowly grinned before whooping. "We have ourselves a home! After me, leeches!" He marched off in the direction of the slums, by all stretches of the imagination, ecstatic.
06/23/2014 1:20 AM ·Spoilers
While following, Carmite studies the marketplace from a distance, and various small groups of people walking together. "I might know a way to make coin, but it's unsafe..."
06/23/2014 1:22 AM ·Spoilers
Flaire followed him, slightly less enthusiastic. She fell in step besides Logan.
06/23/2014 1:25 AM ·Spoilers
Castor looked back at Carmite and saw him looking over the marketplace. There were stands of fantastic weapons, sleek armor, charms, trinkets, a bit of everything. "Oy, Carmite, I see you eyeing those crowds. Anything in mind?"
06/23/2014 1:30 AM ·Spoilers
"A lot of these people seem to be in together... I believe someone runs the marketplace, silver flows to him, and a mount of that flows out to his men... We could either shake-down thems in the hats, or get tied in somehow... No business is clean. Surely they give & take favors."
06/23/2014 1:35 AM ·Spoilers
"Ha, not a half hour into this city and you're considering crime. I like the way you think." He flashed a toothy smile at the rest of the group. "So, would you all care to join Carmite and I in our exploits?"
06/23/2014 1:37 AM ·Spoilers
"Mm," Flaire considered. "As long as we take prisoners. I don't want to murder on my first day."
06/23/2014 1:39 AM ·Spoilers
"...Oy Logan, quit bein' such a baby. Wipe those tears and get thinking. We need money and, what can we do, right?"
06/23/2014 1:42 AM ·Spoilers
Castor considered it quickly and retorted, "Absolutely no promises. But I will try to keep my dagger stain-free, darling." The group approached the slums, a series of small, run down buildings a the edge of the city. He took a deep breath. "Ah, take it in. The smell of lost hope and grime. Just like home." He went down the rows, looking for number 17.
06/23/2014 1:47 AM ·Spoilers
"Home," Flaire said ruefully. She nudged Logan, not in an unfriendly way. "Comin', Bunny? That's your name, right?"
06/23/2014 1:51 AM ·Spoilers
"15...16...17... Ah, 17! Here we are, leeches, home sweet home!" He turned the key on the latch and swung open the creaky door. The inside was pathetic. (Description time)
06/23/2014 1:58 AM ·Spoilers
The main room was small and dimly lit. A few lanterns hung from the walls, casting an orange glow. There were two bedrooms with two low, cramped beds each and an even tinier bathroom. In the main room there was a tiny oven with rusty pots and pans, along with a sink. There were shelves along the walls and a chimney that had some firewood inside, along with a wooden table and a few chairs.
06/23/2014 2:00 AM ·Spoilers
Castor stood in the doorway, hands on his hips. "All in all, much better than I expected." He walked in and set a few bottles of alcohol on a shelf. "Ah... Now it's home."
06/23/2014 2:02 AM ·Spoilers
Looks around, dreadfully. "Give them some credit, there's beds... two... That churl. He said these fit five people."
06/23/2014 2:03 AM ·Spoilers
"Four beds," Flaire noted. "Five of us." She waited a beat. "I CALL ONE!" She tossed her bag across the room, where it landed on the pillow of the nearest bed.
06/23/2014 2:06 AM ·Spoilers
"What? Oh, another room." Looks around more. "At least the chairs aren't going to break. I'll be the gentleman and sleep on them."
06/23/2014 2:06 AM ·Spoilers
Castor cracked open a wax seal on one of his bottles and took a swig. He slinked over to a bed, tossing his pack on the ground. "Ah... Anyone in the mood for some celebratory Bourbon?"
06/23/2014 2:11 AM ·Spoilers
"Looks like Lena's fighting Carmite for it." Flaire sat on her bed, wincing at the lumps. "I have to share a room with Castor? Disappointing."
06/23/2014 2:12 AM ·Spoilers
Sits on a chair, sets his pack on the other, and opens it. "I could only bring my Shortsword... I wish I had my armor and my pike... Sold it for fare." Equips the leather holster and sheathed sword.
06/23/2014 2:16 AM ·Spoilers
Castor winks at her. "Don't worry darling, I don't bite... much." He cackles at his own humor. When he settles down enough, he adds, "But in all seriousness, I am strictly business." He begins to laugh again. "Oh, who am I kidding, I've never enjoyed business..."
06/23/2014 2:21 AM ·Spoilers
Flaire glanced at Castor with a raised eyebrow and changed the subject. "What's our game plan for tomorrow?"
06/23/2014 2:21 AM ·Spoilers
"I'm pretty sure this place is a breathing hazard... Check under your beds, for anything worth it. Even skeletons are worth it."
06/23/2014 2:29 AM ·Spoilers
Castor reached under the bed and moved his hand around, looking for anything. His finger hit something metal. He put his fingers around it and brought it up to his face. "I found... A metal rod. Why." He tossed it across the room, and it hit the floor with a clang. "Our 'game plan', darling, is to acquire coin. However we must."
06/23/2014 2:35 AM ·Spoilers
"The market chain all seem to wear black hats, to show themselves as members. If we're gonna do some shake-downs, we can't do it on them. Intimidation is a suggestion, but you might want to know how to disarm someone..."
06/23/2014 2:37 AM ·Spoilers
"I'm good at disarming," Flaire said. "All three ways. I'll help out, gladly."
06/23/2014 2:40 AM ·Spoilers
(Ignore that last comment, if you saw it :V) Castor took another long draft of Bourbon and sighed. "My suggestion is we follow them to their homes under cover of darkness, enter unnoticed, subdue them if necessary and take what we need. Which means, rob them blind."
06/23/2014 2:43 AM ·Spoilers
"That also works, Castor. We can use that metal rod as a weapon, to knock them cold if they wake up, or, scream. When do we go out?"
06/23/2014 2:43 AM ·Spoilers
(Ok guys, I'm literally on the verge of falling asleep. I like where this is headed. Continue tomorrow?)
06/23/2014 2:44 AM ·Spoilers
"But who to target?" Flaire wondered. "No pure innocents is my only rule. Shouldn't be too hard to find a man of questionable morals around these parts. Wealth is also an issue."
06/23/2014 2:46 AM ·Spoilers
(Yeah my battery went red earlier and I'm not charging it yet, I'm afraid it's gonna blink at me, so YEAH.)
06/23/2014 2:49 AM ·Spoilers
Castor got up and stretched. "When night falls we head to the market. Follow the black-capped men to their residence, unnoticed. If you are noticed, retreat. They will not look in the slums. To them, we are leeches, content to live off of there backs. We will be more." (Goodnight guys)
06/23/2014 11:37 AM ·Spoilers
[Most of the reason I got up today was because I started thinking about this RP and I got really excited. So I'll just be waiting here...]
06/23/2014 2:05 PM ·Spoilers
(Ha, looks like everyone's here. Shall we pick up where we left off?)
06/23/2014 2:09 PM ·Spoilers
[Sure! I'm with Le Cookieh on another RP, so I know she's on.]
06/23/2014 2:09 PM ·Spoilers
"So we have our plans... But anyways, I'm starved mad, and eating outta what is here now, will probably be my last action... I saw a bar on the way here. Eh?"
06/23/2014 2:13 PM ·Spoilers
(Ha, she's been yeahing my comments.) Castor snapped his fingers. "The Rhydon's Den! Hear it's got the best ale and grub in Pokéwall. I'm roaring for some fine steak." He liked his lips.
06/23/2014 2:17 PM ·Spoilers
"Steak," Flaire said appreciately. "They probably have Kingler meat too."
06/23/2014 2:20 PM ·Spoilers
"Maybe even Walrein, but I can doubt that. Well, let's go find out." Opens door, and holds it for the others.
06/23/2014 2:28 PM ·Spoilers
(I was havin' a quick lunch) Castor marched through, eager to get himself some food on his belly. "Thank you, sirrah."
06/23/2014 2:29 PM ·Spoilers
It was dusk by now, and a light rain sprinkled the street. "Good. By the time we finish eating it'll be dark enough to make 'coin.' Unless we all die in bar fights, which is likely for the rest of you."
06/23/2014 2:34 PM ·Spoilers
Castor huffed. "I've never been in a barfight that I haven't won. All these lightweights and barflys don't know who they're messing with."
06/23/2014 2:34 PM ·Spoilers
Closes the door, and moves quickly to the group. "I would be quiet. All of us had to leave our country or city. That means you, too."
06/23/2014 2:43 PM ·Spoilers
"True enough...I used to live in a place called Virbank," Flaire remembered. "Secluded place, it was, but there wasn't a moment without music."
06/23/2014 2:44 PM ·Spoilers
"Ha, that's a fact I savor. My home was a wasteland. I'm glad I got the chance to leave. C'mon, let's go have ourselves a pint and some chow." He started walking off to the bar.
06/23/2014 2:48 PM ·Spoilers
As he follows, he looks at the black cap people. "I came from a city called 'Kivskhan.' It was having some revolution problems, executions by the cartload. I had to get out of there before the list got down to me. Good thing it was a long list..."
06/23/2014 2:49 PM ·Spoilers
Flaire lit a fire in her palm. "What's with you mon and alcohol?"
06/23/2014 2:54 PM ·Spoilers
He looked back at Flaire and grinned. "Dulls reality. The world no longer holds interest in my eyes, so I need something to ignite that. I came from a land known as the Windshear Wastes. Its inhabitants are criminals and the condemned by society. I'm the son of a criminal. Managed to sneak aboard the barge as it passed, hoping for a better life. The rest is up to fate."
06/23/2014 2:56 PM ·Spoilers
"Flaire, it's either mead or water; and water is tasteless..."
06/23/2014 3:00 PM ·Spoilers
"That's the problem," Flaire clucked. "Y'all depend on it, and sooner or later, reality is going to slap you in the face when we can't afford to waste money on scotch. Plus, your livers will fail in about fifteen years and you'll die a slow horrible death."
06/23/2014 3:02 PM ·Spoilers
Castor shrugged. "I'm a Toxicroak, got poison in my veins. I don't think a bit more is gonna do me much harm. Besides, reality can bite me."
06/23/2014 3:05 PM ·Spoilers
Carmite tilts his head. "Surely you don't believe in those myths." Shrugs, "Besides, I only drink Honeyed Mead with Walrein."
06/23/2014 3:09 PM ·Spoilers
Castor puts his arm around Flaire. "C'mon, darling, loosen up. We've got a big job to pull off tonight." They arrive at the bar, a wide wooden building with a red roof. On the door there was a painted Rhydon. "We have arrived!"
06/23/2014 3:10 PM ·Spoilers
Flaire met eyes with all of them, then sighed. "I see playing devils' advocate won't stop you. All right then; at least we're here. This should be fun." Flaire pulled a silver coin out of her everpresent satchel and flipped it in her pawlike hand.
06/23/2014 3:12 PM ·Spoilers
"I can hear the cheer from here. Let's just act like we are on top of things... You brought the silver right?"
06/23/2014 3:16 PM ·Spoilers
Castor tossed his coin pouch in the air and caught it. "Bit'a silver bit'a gold. I told you, we'd be well off for the next few days." Castor pushed the double doors open and stepped inside. The bar was a hive of activity. Music was being played by bards onstage, scantily-clad barmaids were serving all too eager patrons and a fireplace roared in the center, giving it a warm, homey feel.
06/23/2014 3:20 PM ·Spoilers
Behind th e bar, bartenders were busy serving and mixing drinks. Castor went to a the bar and ordered a pint of Blackbriar Mead and Tauros steak before collapsing into the wooden chair of a near table. He tapped his foot to the beat of the lively music while he waited.
06/23/2014 3:20 PM ·Spoilers
"Smells like a Rhydon's den," Flaire noticed. She glanced at the barmaids and unconsciously hiked up her black Tepigskin blouse.
06/23/2014 3:25 PM ·Spoilers
Walks up to a counter, and sets his cut of silver on the counter. "Seared Magikarp, and... Water." Walks over to a table, and sits, looking at the bards as they play.
06/23/2014 3:33 PM ·Spoilers
One of the barmaids, a Loppunny dressed in a short skirt and a midriff-bearing frilly blouse brought him his steak and mead. Castor winked at her and tossed a silver coin. She caught it and blew a kiss. "Oh, I love me these barmaids." He picked up his flagon and took a large gulp. "Ah..."
06/23/2014 3:39 PM ·Spoilers
A barmaid gives Carmite his meal... Carmite avoids saying anything, or looking at her. She was a Swalot. You'd lose your appetite from physical contact. Carmite eats quickly.
06/23/2014 3:39 PM ·Spoilers
Flaire ordered Kingler legs and iced Rawst juice. She chose a spot near Carmite, ignoring all the Pokemon who were giving her looks that should've belonged to the barmaids, and closed her eyes, listening to the music. "Kingler meat and music. I'd almost think I was back home."
06/23/2014 3:43 PM ·Spoilers
Castor dug into his steak feverishly, only pausing to take drinks of mead. When he finished, he put his hands on his belly and leaned back, extremely satisfied. "I haven't had a meal this good in... Ever. Arceus, that steak was second to none." He burped rather loudly.
06/23/2014 3:43 PM ·Spoilers
"Mm. Back home, the winters are ten months... Fish is all I really know. The international trading was good, though."
06/23/2014 3:49 PM ·Spoilers
"Same, pretty much. Ol' Virbank is a little blister on the tip of a peninsula. Surrounded by water, so we were mostly self-sufficient. Darn if the Virbank Kingler special isn't the best in the world, though." Flaire sipped her drink.
06/23/2014 3:52 PM ·Spoilers
Castor turned his chair around to face the rest of the group. "So how shall we approach the delicate subject of tonight's heist?"
06/23/2014 3:55 PM ·Spoilers
In a whisper, "Keep it down. I'll be doing shake-downs on lucky peasants... What will you guys be doing?"
06/23/2014 3:59 PM ·Spoilers
Castor scoffed. "It's a bar. Not a soul cares for what you have to say or do. I could take off all my clothes right now and dance along with the bards and not a person here would notice. Not that I'm going to, sirrah." Castor picked some meat from his teeth. "I will be infiltrating the houses of these elite merchants. See what kind of riches they have for us."
