It's silly. Most people probably just grind to get higher HR, and don't even do anything that requires skill any more than they have to.

I think the high number would look cool, but only if you did real challenges to get it. Like, do /every/ quest. And try to get the armors of every monster that appears after Dire Miralis. Otherwise, it's almost completely pointless to get it.

  • It's like I was told, it's easy for people to carry other players, so someone with a super high #, may not be that skilled. I've always based my opinion of a hunter on their knowledge and skills. Both are easy to spot, so are crappy high lvls, like hammer payers whacking tails >.<

  • Ye, I met this one guy while I was helping two HR 1's, He wouldn't let anybody hit the monster (he caused explosion to knock us back) had to do everything his way, and wouldn't let them carve the monster. -_-

  • i meet plenty of hunters who are knowledgeable and have great useful skills for hammer, bows and great swords, but when i see most hammer users, they're not even going for the head!, i rarely hammer, but i go for the head :/

  • Its always a good idea to base ones opinion on a players skill rather the their hunter rank.I personaly have very high hr chars, but i remake and play lower chars often.More time doing things tends to alow them to learn more, unfortunately far to many are carried by others or farm same quest over and over learning next to nothing in their time spent in game. Said to much,be well..learn and share!

  • All comes down to who you are and what you do. Once I reached High enough I help others. With what THEY need! Im a hr 267 all i do is help, Ive almost everything I wanted. But hr is nothing, just hours and hours of fun. Like phoenix said, its skill, knowledge. Ive been called a mh Wiki by my girlfriend so I use it to help not boss around. Be friendly, Hunt together and have fun

  • HR means nothing. But some people don't get it. They think a high HR makes them better players but they're wrong. The experience on game makes you a better player, not the HR. I'm playing from MHF from PSP and I'm still learning. So there's no point about the high HR = expert.

  • well you're right you don't have any rights whatsoever to judge people based on their hr, i used to be 76 and was much MUCH stronger than most 999ers but higher hr just looks... cool. You feel like you've accomplished something, so i grinded all the way up to 200 and it still feels the same so hr doesn't really matter after all
