Question

I'm fairly new to Monster Hunter, and I'm a bit curious as to how the online play works. Anyone care to explain?

    Talk with the cat at the port, network mode, and you can find a lobby/room, you can sort by hunt or whatever you're looking to do.

    It's fairly stream lined, just think of it like single player but with up to 4 hunters. Online navigation is broken into servers, worlds, lobbies, and then individual rooms. In lobbies you can search for rooms to enter, search for a specific room based on a criteria, or create your own room. The menu options change online and if you are using the Gamepad then get used to having a shoutouts option

    which is mapped to the ZL button on the gamepad which lets you say pre-made messages which can be edited and changed to your liking. My advice is to just play around with the options by yourself in a room. Make sure to put a password on the room (also a room creating option) so as not to be disturbed.

    You can, there are options to have text game chat or options to use mic headsets. Text game chat is more bearable if you have a keyboard connected to your Wii U via USB.
