Question

how do i get the barroths tail, since i need it for the barroth leg armor, i re fought it multiple times and i still haven't gotten it, i even cut off the mud on its tail which i thought would count as cutting off the tail

    You need to keep hitting the tail until it actually comes off, not just break the armor on the tail. Make sure you're using a cutting weapon.

    Thanks! I already thought to carve the tail, but thanks, i did have trouble hitting the tail since all the weapons that were long enough to reach it attacked too slow so then he would turn around to face me before i hit it xD

    Or just keep attacking his legs, then spam x and a at his tail when he has fallen.
