    Since you're on 3DS, there are two ways to get Guild Cards from other players: (1) Street Pass. If you don't know how Street Pass works, read your 3DS manual. Talk to the felyne near Granny Go-To in Tanzia to see if you got any Guild Cards via Street Pass. (2) Do local multiplayer with friends who have MH3U on 3DS, and exchange Guild Cards with them while you're together in Tanzia Port.

    You don't do anything to use them. When you're is Tanzia Port solo mode, you'll see some of the hunters whose cards you have, and you can send them on mini-quests to get materials for you (but they can't hunt with you). And you earn Unity points for each quest if you have the guild cards of the people you're playing with (but 3DS only supports local multiplayer, so you're limited there).

    For every 25 Unity points, you get a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Cosmic VE Ticket, which you can trade to the Veggie Elder for various items.
