I'm hearing reports of newbies Getting pissed durring Hard Horn hunts because someone killed the diablos. It's a break only reward guys. the only thing you need for the chance is breaking the horns. Also, during Multi hunt quests that change carves to Pots, CAPPING DOSES NOTHING, only breaks count.

    also in the advanced quest the chances in the rewards are like 20% even though I broke both horns and it took 179 tries for just one...

    Too many players are told that "capping gives better odds" but it's not true. It depends on what rare materials you're trying to get and at what rank. Some you can only get by carve or only by break. And if you look up the odds, you have to remember that those percentages are *for each carve/reward* - you get 3 carves (more for some monsters), but only 2 cap rewards.

    @This is me: It also depends on what monster you are hunting. For Brachy and Zin it's better to kill since you get more chances at carving gems. But for the Rathian & Rathalos capturing is better for getting the rarest materials from it. These are just the best examples i could think of.

    thats true, there is only 5-7% by breaking horns, in every quest (advanced too) except by tge advanced plan dangerous, hardhorns appear in base rewards there
