I just realized, 2015 will be the 30th anniversary of the NES and the Super Mario series, now I'm not saying this will happen, but what if Nintendo has something big planned for next year? Like a bucket of Wii U/3DS titles and maybe Super Mario Galaxy 3 or collection of 3D Mario Games.

    Unlikely. The company is Japanese, so for them the Famicom (ie. the NES) came out in 1983... which means the 30th anniversary was last year.

    Oh...well they can still celebrate Super Mario's 30th anniversary at the very least.

    Donkey Kong was released in 1981 and was the first real Mario game so technically the 30th anniversary of the first Mario game was in 2011.
