Mario Kart Pro Tip #3 Flame Hopping. Flame Hopping is a new technique discovered in Mario Kart 8 that extends a boost. To flame hop all you need to do is get a boost from either a mushroom, boost panel, or mini turbo. After you get a boost just move left and right while in the boost to extend it. NOTE: Flame Hopping does not work on a Slip Stream.
