What is the rarest item/weapon in the game?

from my experience I'd say Hardhorns, weapons on the other hand...perhaps high rarity event weapons?

Barely anybody has the Majestic Sceptor as far as I know.

IMO, durambolite is the rarest item. Weapon is probably the event dios hammer, no one wants to do that quest!

i would say majestic septor and hardhorn. i kid you not, i hunted nearly 250 diablos/black diablos (1,000+ hours) before realizing they won't give you a hardhorn unless you do hr 7 'plain dangerous' advanced quest! and the majestic septor...tried 'clashing fists' 3 times, failed 3 times. you're team is dam near perfect or you fail.
