    I've only been playing on the first map, but one thing that seems to be helping is saving up the special bonuses and then stacking them up when used. Try to know just before your current strategy will fail, and on the last clearable level pop all of your money and/or score bonuses at once. Those bonuses stack, so you can earn 3x or 4x resources for that wave, giving you a big kickstart.

    Also don't spend more than you need, because you get interest at the end of each wave.
