    Lance is THE best Blademaster underwater, no exceptions. I completely wreck Plesioth, Gobul, all three flavors of Lagiacrus, and all three flavors of Nargacuga with Lance, and lots more monsters drop dead easy with Lance. Just don't try Brachydios with it. That never ends well.
