I'm sorry, but the only thing that Pure Chess cross platform play has shown me is how much further along Android/iOS is than Wii U in regards to modern gaming. Sure, there's no touching Ninty's 1st party games, but on my Droid I get instant OS level notifications when my opponent has made their move and it takes a 3rd of the time to jump in and play vs. on my Wii U. Step it up, Nintendo!

  • I agree for the most part, but I'm going to say this one isn't Ninty's fault. I think It's the devs putting more effort into their mobile version, and doing the bare minimum for the WiiU version.

Actually Marcelo, having played both versions extensively, I can say without doubt that the Wii U version is the definitive version of the game. It's just that the Wii U OS is so slow and there's no ability for game specific notifications like on mobile (which is odd because Nintendo recently updated their Notification app to be a Quick Launch 'Home' app, yet it still serves no purpose.

  • I see. I have been very frustrated with N lately, because they have so many missed opprtunities with online interactions. I could literally give several examples off the top of my head. They truly need to take a note from how well it's been done on xbox, and even the ps. Really, the only reason they (sort of) get a pass from me, is that almost every game they crank out is an absolute masterpiece.

I agree there. Problem is (for me) is that's starting to become not enough. I don't want a PS or XB clone, but I want more progress than they are currently making. An Account based system should have been in place DAY ONE on Wii U.

  • They need younger management. It's time to let some new blood run this company, and keep Nintendo machines from feeling like they are behind the times. Hopefully they revamp the WiiU online system and hopefully their next console will be ''future proof''
