Do the large monsters really try to attack each other (besides in the cut-scenes)? Or is it friendly fire? I've heard of people having arena monsters attack each other.

  • The only attacking I've seen was friendly fire when monsters would accidentally wound each other.

  • The only large monsters that I know to deliberately attack other large monsters is Deviljho, but it still prefers to go for the hunters. Otherwise it's mostly friendly fire.

  • i have seen many large monsters attack a smaller monster, and vice versa. it depends on the species, and terrain. ive seen wroggi and great jaggi attack rath and ians. and ive seen jho attack volvidon and lagomby

  • It mostly depends on the kind of monster like if it's ian and los they won't attack, but jho doesn't care...

  • When they do its really rare. But Jaggi will attack almost anything that isn't related to them. Once in free hunt I saw somee Jaggi start trying to fight a sleeping Great Baggi. And once on Tri, Great Jaggi and all the small ones chased after a Royal Ludroth, they somehow took his tail off (probably because I hit it once before it came into the area, so it got the minimum slash damage).
