Question

I feel like poison doesen't do anything to monsters. I could see purple bubbles over their heads, but... Does it really do anything?

    It does. They just have lots of health. Like, what are refering to? A deviljho or an Altaroth?

    A Deviljho or an Ivory lagiacrus. I've seen them eat poisoned meat and it seems to do nothing. But it does kill monsters faster, right?

    The boss monsters have so much health, poison is a useless effect. Only good for killing bugs.

    actually poison is a very useful effect,its because deviljho and ivory lagi have massive amount of health. also poisoned meat's poison effect leaves pretty quickly. if your using a poison weapon like Carmilla bloodsucker (final form gigginox longsword) the poison sticks on the monster for a long while.

    When poison actually takes effect, it does a small amount of damage every second for the duration that a monster is poisoned. Some monsters stay poisoned longer than others, and I'm lead to believe that the damage per second is also different between monsters. Some very good targets for poison are Plesioth, Green Plesioth, Duramboros, and Rust Duramboros.

    One interesting thing about poison is that, unlike sleep and paralysis, you can build up to the next poison while a monster is already poisoned. This means if you can apply poison fast enough, you can keep monsters poisoned the whole fight. Also, I forgot to mention Brachydios and Uragaan are good targets for poison as well.

    The poison by itself doesn't really do a whole lot 2 monsters its the weapons damage along with it that does. Poison never really impressed me much or seemed 2 do much even tho it does helps if ur wep is dishing out great damage. I find paralysis and sleep 2 be way better but paralysis is my fav, i love piling up lots of damage on tbe monsters main weak spots while they're immobile.

    Course if monsters have low tolerance 2 poison then yes its very effective but only if they have low tolerance 2 it. But tbh it still doesn't seem 2 kill monsters any faster than when im not using poison sometimes.
