well a lance is more of a defensive weapon (but if you have the ability marathon runner its a great weapon and with stam recovery up you can block alot 'this also helps with duel blades by the way' but the ramming attack is mostly for going at a limping monster or making a status take effect 'just....never do it with poison that would drain alot of HP from the monster xD')

Since I'm so used to Lance, Gunlance just feels odd to me. The dash-upper-stab and lack of a block-advance throws me off the most, otherwise I've been getting the hang of Gunlance recently. Also, you can't counterattack with Gunlance, counterattack is Lance's best feature.

I'm currently using Lagia Burst. Sounds like I need to give Lance a try. Counterattack sounds like it could be fun!

xD i like the lance's counterattack you block and charge an attack and if you get hit it gets blocked and you attack (ok....not a huge spoiler the name says it all xD)PS:if you ever do a charger attack(block+A and X or +)watch your stamina or use a mega dash juice or dash juice(which you can get at the agrosrey 'idk how its spelled xD'captain)

Also my favorite thing to do with Lance is counter a monster's roar and stab them in the head before they finish the animation. Nargacuga is the most notable victim of this.
