    You can only get Throwing Knives in the supply box during a quest. You can't make one or buy one.

    Occasionally the melynxes and felynes will drop one if you hit them. I believe the low rank village rathian quest starts with throwing knives in the blue chest. Similar to ez shocktraps, rations, etc., throwing knives, whether they're para, poison, sleep, or regular, can not be taken back to the lobby/port/village.
