    Well, it depends on the monster, so you best make multiple weapons for just that reason.

    Jared and Brian are right. Every person has a favorite weapon, and every monster is weak to, and strong against, a certain element and/or status. There is no One Powerful Weapon that is best against all monsters. You should always utilize different weapons, or at least different elemental/status types of one weapon class.

    If dual blades work best for you, then yes, that's the right weapon . If you're comfortable with the controls, I would encourage you to try all the weapon types. If you find others you like, then make and use those types. If only dual blades work for you, then make many different kinds of dual blades.

    Specifically, make fire dual blades to fight monsters like barioth and ice agnaktor. Make water dual blades for monsters like brachydios and baleful gigginox. Make thunder dual blades for monsters like rathian and plesioth.

    And make poison, paralysis, and sleep dual blades. The greater your selection of weapons is, the better off you'll be.
