Wait...let me get this straight; you release an UNtranslated game on the VC, but won't release Mother which you've had fully translated for years? Sometimes, I just don't understand

  • I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the differences in Copyright Laws in Japan and Copyright Laws elsewhere, rather than translation issues.

  • Actually, I thought that APE and Shigesato Itoi himself owned that series.

  • There's got to be some reason...of course, we'll never know it....

  • itll come one day; there is NO doubt. Earthbound is on Wii U, Megaman is in Smash, Sting is in WWE and that Man vs Food guy is skinny. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN

  • If you bother looking at the Digital Booklet that came with it, it could easily tell you what the characters mean. Nintendo just localized this game just because it has a small amount of kanji in it.

  • yes, saw that, but it doesn't change the fact the game wasn't translated

  • Again, part of the problems they were having with EarthBound, for instance, was Copyright. A lot of the music is very heavily 'similar', so to say, which causes the Music Industry to get angry.

  • We're certainly not saying you're wrong, Asia, but we Nintendo has never come out and statedas such. Not to mention, Earthbound was re-released pretty much as is. Regardless, I think we all agree that more imports would be appreciated

  • noticed a typo in my comment above...didn't mean for that "we" before "Nintendo"

  • Hm, point taken. I'm still pretty sure that that's why EarthBound took so long, and maybe why Mother 3 is also taking so long, but I can see what you mean.
