  • story unfolds. It's a little unpolished and there is some waggle, but still a great title! This past week I went to gamestop and bought Speed Racer, Tale of Despereaux, and rebought Link's Crossbow Training for under $8! The Wii lives on! I think in time the Wii will get the recognition it deserves, but meanwhile I'll be playing all the unappreciated gems the console has!

  • And Samael is correct about Punch Out. It's more of a remake than anything, but don't let that throw you, because Punch Out! is simply fantastic. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I grew up in the Atari 2600 days, so I have played a lot of games!

  • There are so many other games on Wii I can recommend! I own about 150 of them, after all. Muramasa is a must-have, and so is Tatsunoku vs. Capcom, Bully, Boom blox (by Steven Spielberg) is quite fun, Metroid Prime 3/Trilogy is AMAZING, from wii shop, World of Goo and the Lost wind games are great, Battalion wars 2 is a must have, Endless ocean 1+2 is great to relax (esp. on a big screen)!

    Yeahs0
  • Then for retro fans like you and me, there is Metal Slug Anthology, King of Fighters Orochi saga collection, Samurai Showdown Anthology... NiGHTS is a great sequel to the Sega classic, Overlord is a fantastic game in the vein of Pikmin (but with little gremlin-like orcy creatures), Okami is a must have (but get the HD version on PS3 if you can, play with Move), No more heroes is just... awesome...

    Yeahs0
  • and because I cannot stop once talking about all the great Wii titles except Zelda + Mario, here are some more recommendations: Red steel 2, Project zero 2: Wii edition, Sonic colours, The house of the dead: Overkill (later re-released as playstation game), Trauma center (so hard!), Warioland Shake dimension (Awesome artstyle). Did not include the great RPGs as I remember you didn't like 'em, Lee

    Yeahs1
  • i play house of the dead in arcades and lee how can you not like RPGS

    Yeahs0
  • I play house of the dead on a 250" screen - viva la beamer! If you do love RPGs, Xenoblade Chronicles is the best one that was ever made (in my opinion). The last story is awesome too - it's really the game Final Fantasy XIII should have been. It is clear who made it. Final fantasy Crystal bearers is absolutely gorgeous for a Wii game, has an awesome intro and good story - but boring gameplay.

The thing i don't like about RPG's is that they require dedication, i haven't completed any of the Final Fantasy games and Zelda games coz of how long they are. Looks like the VC games as come to an end with none being released this week←they haven't, whats happening is Nintendo want a whole week to sell what they got on already on Wii U eshop. Most Wii games Andrew and Sam mentioned i already got.

  • Maybe the reason there are no VC games for us is because the PEGI / USK rating system takes a long time. Many of the old games were not rated for PEGI + USK so need to be redone (~€3000) - maybe they take longer during the summer holidays?

  • Lee why not just buy an Nes I didn't want to wait for VC. So I bought an n64

  • Scott: The Wii U is perfect for VC games like i don't need to wire up Nes and Snes and they all play perfectly on Wii U.

  • I want to give Samael a virtual hug! When people complain WIIU has no games I'm just astounded. Even my beloved NES only had about 50 awesome games, 50 very good games, and another 50 or so you want just because. Wii falls into the same category, yet most of its' library is referred to as shovelware. As of now I have almost 40 or so WIIU games, which I think is pretty good, especially considering

    Yeahs0
  • that there are several games I want but simply haven't got yet, like Game and Wario, Resident Evil, Walking Dead, etc. Factor in Disney Infinity, LEGO Batman 3, Captain Toad, Hyrule Warriors, and 2015 games and beyond, I think the WIIU will end up with a very respectable library when it's done. That said, the eshop although getting better, still needs a major shot in the arm. One of the key

    Yeahs0
  • selling points of the WII was the VC IMO. Rygar, Snake Rattle and Roll, Iron Tank, Karnov, Contra, and many other great NES games need to be on there, as well as Saturn, Dreamcast, etc. games. Why not more arcade ports as well?

yeah SEGA really shouldn't waste 3 yrs on making SEGA Bass Fishing Wii U, if SEGA aren't bothering doing a console then they need to get all their games on Wii U eshop asap, most Wii U owners would like SEGA excl VC games and it will open doors for sequels to them games aswell. As a gaming console goes Wii U is probably best right now and i do try talking people into buying one but they never do.

  • Yeah, the Wii U to gamecube comparissons are apt. Not just in terms of ending up behind Sony again, but akso when it comes to game library. We've got a lot of future classics already. For Wii I've got 150 games. Half of them are great, the other half range from okay to good - but no shovelware. It's a bit unfair, really - especially when you compare it to the shovelware PS2 had, esp beat-m-ups.

    Yeahs0
  • I love my virtual hugs. I'm starting a collection, you know.

    Yeahs0
  • I agree. The NES, SNES, PS1, etc. all had poo games. EVERY CONSOLE DOES! The Wii was actually more akin to the 2600. But does something like Carnival Games cancel out Mushroom Men? I don't think so. Good games are where you find them! Looking outside of established franchises helps!
