    Din, when you got five stars, that means you REALLY didn't beat the game. Since I'm far from my GamePad (at my sister's house), I'll just say, I finished NSMBU twice and NSLU twice solo from beginning to end with all 5 stars on each profile. And yesterday I started a new file on NSLU and already gotten to Soda Jungle - The Secret Level. The previous levels, I gotten all the Star Coins... An easy

    Confusing, I know. In short: You can say you beated the game when you have 1 star, but that still doesn't mean you beated the whole Story Mode.
