before koei's samurai warriors & kessen... there was koei's nobunaga's ambition! good game. they need to bring these strategy games back. havent played a game like this since the three kingdoms series on ps2. if you see a 5-star rating for it on the eshop, one of them is mine.

    more like an electronic risk(static map) or advance wars type game(turn-based action) than a building-tree type game like age of empires. its basically just a map of japan, with drop down menus to improve your military/land/etc with only number stats to show your results. when you go to battle, you place your units on the various terrain maps & its all turn based. fun, but not for everyone.

    I know there's versions for current consoles, but sadly they're Japan only. The last one in English was Pokémon Conquest (Original Title: Pokémon+Nobunaga's Ambition).
