Just read that japan will be getting a side story related dlc quest on it's day 1 release of mh4g that will be bringing back old familiar faces like cha-cha and kayamba, the black felyne with the red eyepatch on mh portable 3rd, and the guild sweetheart from yukimo village and that completing those quests will grant u some nice rewards. Sounds exciting.
