    from the ants throw down a poison bomb (looks like a purple flare) and let the poison do the rest, after that you can carve it from them its kinda rare

    Or do the same with a weak (preferably low rank) poison weapon. I suggest the Shadow Saber SnS. It has 168 raw and 218 poison with some green. It's great since you can hit them plenty to inflict poison without killing them in one hit. The path is hunter (basic iron one) and eventually go to the assasin's dagger path.

    but its alot cheaper to go on the mission at camp and earn money by using the PROVIDED poison bombs
