I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this, but when i was a growing up with melee, you didn't play on final destination with items off because you were "pro" you did it because you were terrible at the game and couldn't play on poke floats while simultaneously dodging bobombs, pokeballs, and super scope shots

    Nope. You played on FD without items to minimize the luck factor and let the most skilled player win.

    i don't even think that pro player plays on FD (at least not all the time) when there are characters that have the advantage on flat stages.

    Your not neccesarily going to get hate because melee came out forever ago and stuff changed over time, and its just nice to have a nice flat place to brawl it out XD, but in all respect, i agree.
