I don't think it's the wi-fi. Even local battles tend to get pretty laggy. I think sometime Smash battles are a bit much for the 3DS to handle.

Oh, if I may say something about Marq's comment... I believe only the Replay Channel's replays are pre-recorded, while Spectator is live. Perhaps what causes spectator to not lag is that you're only receiving data, not really sending more than a "hey i got that bit" message back.

For my case it is An Error Ha occurred 4-5-6-2-9-0-8 That's what it says when I play pretty much anything that has to do with Nintendo's Wifi

Not sure what that's about. Have you tried using Nintendo's website? It's got a whole section just for figuring out error codes.

Both are prerecorded. Lag works differently in fighter and sports games than it does for others. When those types of game lag, it freezes everything until all data synchronizes and transfers between all systems. If even one of the players is laggy, it slows down everything because the game is only able to move as fast as the slowest connection allows.

In Mario Kart for example and most other online games, the game is always running at full speed, not caring if another player is laggy. They will just teleport around and will at times appear invincible because of the way lag compensation works in that game. But besides that, if you sit on spectator mode long enough, it starts putting up the same matches over again; even ones you've already bet on
