This may be a dumb question, but do characters have different defense stats? Because sometimes Little Mac's KO punch does around 35 damage and doesn't kill, but other times I've seen it do around 98 and kill immediately. And I'm not talking about custome sets, I mean their default stats.

    Maybe there's a sweet spot? That is a mechanic where certain parts of the hitbox is more powerful then the rest. For example, the tip of Marth's sword is the part you want to hit people with because it does more damage than hitting with the middle.

  • I think it has to do with how far they get launched, but I dunno about changing the amount of damage an attack does to them.

  • @ManBo I know what a sweet spot is, but I doubt the KO punch is the kind of move that would have it. Besides, like what VCV majin said, it's the rage effect.

    @Modnar I believe it's both cases.

  • I guess I should probably also mention that I was in training mode, at 0%, when it did 35%, and in All-Star when it did 98%.

  • Modnar I think you got the point... if rage effect only affects to the distance that characters are launched, this means that characters have different stats that affect how much damage they get... by the way, I dont think that little mac´s Special attack has different hitboxes

  • I'm on the last fight in All-Star, I'll check in training mode after. Or you guys can just check it on your own.

  • Just tested it on training on Olimar. KO punch did 35, both while I was at 0% and 106%. Did a few other moves at those percentages, and their power didn't change.
