Question

I'm getting this game for the 3D Classics version via club nintendo. Is there any downside to using the code on a 3ds other than the one with the club nintendo account? I want to use my XL but my eshop account is on the old 3DS.

    You can still put the game's download code on any 3DS system once you get the code. Its like buying that Wii/DSi points card at a gamestore. Either use it for one or the other. Never both. So Yes you can download the game for your XL because its a code meant for whoever wants to use it.

    Downside... Hmm... -Well they tell you to be careful not to power off when the code is going through in the eshop or you'll have to re-buy the code. -You get a game and you don't like it. I got one of those. -You already know you can't return a digital copy of a game. Can't think of many downsides.

    I really can't think of any downsides... Sorry. Can't you put your Club Nintendo name on your 3DSXL so you get the survey?

    No, because then I can't use miiverse. My eshop account is connected to a different miiverse account

    Oooh! Thats your downside. but you should still be able to put your club nintendo name on the e-shop. Its not connected to your Network ID. You want to know the downside of putting a downloadable game on a new account. -You won't be able to transfer your other downloaded games to the new system since your old account is banned. If you transfer you lose the game.

    Yeah my old account WAS banned. All my eshop games are on the old 3ds, not the xL

    Okay. Your downside is transfering the game cause you have two accounts. You'll either lose the game you downloaded on the new 3DS or lose the games you downloaded on the old 3DS. Should you ever want to do a system transfer. This would be your problem.

    Oh… Its new to me, and im trying to figure out this mystery downside I can't find. At least you already know things. I really can't think of one outside the club nintendo registration, but that problem can be fixed.
