i'm not the only one who likes Metal and Tanooki Mario right? i mean there are still plenty of other absent characters to take his place, but i'd still pick these versions of mario over most of his other forms.

    Well Metal Mario is a completly different person, so I don't mind him. I don't really mind the tanooki mario but it couldve been a costume like Yoshi and shy guy got.

    Actually, Metal Mario isn't a different person. He's Mario with the Metal Hat/Box. Cosmic Mario's a different Character, and Shadow Mario (who is actually Bowser jr.)

    Tanooki Mario may not seem like he's just a skin for Mario, but there are, albeit, subtle differences in his diolog and animations.

    Metal Mario and Mario with a metal cap are two different things it's like Dry Bowser. Bowser can become Dry, but Dry bowser is a different character. For example Metal Mario says "Mia mama" instead of "Mama mia".http://www.mariowiki.com/Metal_Mario_(character)

    My point being, Tanooki mario is just as different from mario as metal mario is. All of which are just status changes.

    Yes but my point is Mario and Metal Mario are 2 different characters. Mario can use a metal box to become meyal

    But Mario uses a super leaf to become Tanooki mario, just as he does a metal box to become metal mario. you do know where the metalbox originated from right? Smash bros is non-canon.

    i read the wiki page, but some-one writing in a fan-made wiki that a form of someone is an indepenant character doesn't make them one. fan-made wikis are unofficial and can give you false info.

    The Super Mario wiki is VERY reliable. I've never foun s anything on it that is fake. Dry bowser was confirmed his own character in the Olympic games series, and Metal Mario has appeared in many games and seems to have his own personality. Meanwhile tanooki is actually Mario.

    Ok here's some real proof he's his own character. Metal Mario's profile on the MK7 site calls him "Mario's heavy rival"http://mariokart7.nintendo.com/characters/

    Metal Mario the one in the Mario Kart games and Smash Bros is a separate person from Mario entirly, he simply looks like Mario. And Mario can look like Metal Mario by using a metal box. Just like Bowser can look like Dry Bowser by "dieing" but Dry Bowser is a separate ch at acte r as well. Now do you understand?

    This could all be solved by just remembering that time travel is a possibility in the Mario universe allowing Mario to race against his past and future selves.
