i wish i learned how to play back when i was a kid. everybody i knew just collected and traded based on how cool the pokémon looked and its "rarity" which was mostly to scale with the games and TV show. please nintendo, pokémon red/blue, i will buy each one 30 times each...i beg of you big N

    Red and Blue are extremely unlikely on VC. Not only are they horribly glitchy and extremely unbalanced, the connectivity of main series Pokemon doesn't mesh well with VC's lack of multiplayer. Every single Game Boy Virtual Console game has had multiplayer disabled. With that in effect, it would be impossible to get version-exclusive Pokemon and Pokemon that evolve by trading.

    Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons and Ages each had a connection feature to access more dungeons/bosses, yet is a VC game. Perhaps Pokemon RB could follow suit and make you buy both for the additional content XP They're unlikely to come to the eshop, still, but just a thought.

    they could even make it have some basic local wireless connectivity. the original duck hunt is coming out for Wii U VC, now... theres NO WAY they aren't going utilize the wiimote/zapper, unless they -.- tell us to use the gamepad to tap the ducks.
