So how much as this game changed since 1998? I know they added Dark, Metal, Fairy, and Dragon Elements to the game, but that's about it.

  • Burn, mulligan, Supporters EX's... The power creep from then to now is staggering at a glance.

  • I'm assuming Burn works the same way as Poison only with the attack power of the move, correct? Would be curious to know about the Mulligan rule, as well as examples of the Supporters EX power creep you mentioned.

  • The muligen rule in the real tcg allows your opponent an option to draw one extra card and the ex power creap basicly most are over 120 hp as well cheap attacks

  • In short: Pokémon became way more powerful, with EXes, and some trainers now have restrictions (Supporters - 1 per turn, Ace SPEC - 1 per deck)

  • I assume these new rules are all for competitive and not for, say, casual play among friends?

  • Not really, they`re really part of the game mechanics now, all the new cards and decks are balanced around these new rules.. If you ignored them it could get fun, or really out of hand haha

  • I guess I'll continue playing by the GBC's rules while I'm learning the game and how to build a decent deck before I venture to the Online game where all the new rules are being implemented. Is the learning curve going to be steep or is the adjustment pretty easy?

  • The basics are pretty much the same, there are just some added rules, but don`t worry, there are a lot of tutorials and AI matches in the new version of the game to get you going
