Does anyone have tips on beating the goldbeard ceadeus. I finally unlocked the urgent quest and now I need to beat it to get go G-rank. I use long sword/hammer mainly. Reccomended armor sets/weapons will be helpfull.

    GB Ceadeus is weakest to dragon, then thunder, and slightly to fire. Aside from raw damage, it's water beam (especially when it swims to the top of the area and fires) does a decent amount of damage, but can one shot you if your armor has low water res. In short, armor with good water res, and a dragon, thunder, or slime weapon is recommended.

    I tried before with full ceadeus and non-upgraded brachyados long sword and I died 3 times. Should I try to get the DLC longsword you get from the quest "A strange breed"? It has 627 (I think) raw damage and 350 thunder. Should I still use ceadeus or should I get a different set?

    The Ceadeus set should work for you- have you been upgrading it with armor spheres? You may want to try upgrading your Brachy LS, though the Rising Thunder LS you mentioned will work as well. What items are you taking when you attempt GB Ceadeus?

    materials for a bunch of large barrel bomb plus, a bunch of bombs, 10 mega/regular potions, an ancient potion, oxygen, power/defense talons, whetstones, mega demon/armorskin potion things(forget exact name) and 10 underwater balista ammo. I focused on his beard because thats where he's weakest I think. That thing hits like a solid lead truck, even though my armor is upgraded all the way to where..

    i used halfway upgraded dios slicers and fully upgraded high-rank ivory lagiagrus armor to get the full GB ceadeus armor

    Ugh... fighting Ivory Lagictaus is really annoying. They aren't too hard but it's time consuming. Is the I. lagicraus armor set worth it?

    Sounds like you're going in prepared, I would suggest trying air philters/mega air philters instead of oxygens, they're more helpful. You are correct- it's beard is it's main soft spot, though busting it's horns off (using the Dragonater) hurts it pretty badly, too. Beyond that, I'd stick with trying to upgrade your Brachy LS- you should be able to upgrade it at least once before G rank.

    ivory lagiagrus armor has a ability which is removing all attack elements... (EXAMPLE:by that i mean if i get hit by thunder from a monster i wouldnt get thunder,fire,water,or snow blight

    It probably would be worth it, although once you get into G rank, it will be outclassed by G rank armor sets.
