Villager amiibo acquired! He's the hardest one of all to find, from my experience. That brings me to 11... only Pikachu, now, is required to complete Wave 1!

  • Got them all but Wii Fit Trainer. I just couldn't pull the trigger on that one.

  • I like the Wii Fit Trainer one a lot, actually! But I'm buying every last one of these things either way. As a lifelong Nintendo fan, I just adore them. Marth and Villager have been the hardest ones to come by so far (around West L.A., in any case!), closely followed, I'd say, by Wii Fit Trainer.

  • So how much improvement do you actually get with those things? Also did you get the gamecube adapter? I tried to buy one right at midnight and they said they didn't have any! It didn't occur to me that I HAD to get the bundle to get one. Now I'm furious because using the other controllers is throwing off my style...

  • The amiibo are characters that "learn" from how you fight them, so they're more interesting CPU fighters from that perspective. What I like best is that they accumulate rewards in gold and equipment while they fight that you can then redeem, and that is extremely useful! As for the 'Cube adapter, yeah, I had the $100 bundle pre-ordered, and thank goodness for that, because the bundle pre-orders

  • were sold out LONG ago. The 'Cube controllers and adapters ARE sold separately, but the initial shipments sold out almost immediately. Don't let yourself get ripped off online, though. There will be more shipments soon, and the adapter retails for $20. Ask your local stores when they expect to receive more; if they know, they'll usually be happy to tell you.

  • Just remember: Don't worry, you don't HAVE to buy the $100 bundle to get the adapter. It IS sold separately for just $20. You'll just have to keep a sharp eye out for it, because it's in much higher demand than Nintendo clearly anticipated. This is the first time that I've been glad for pre-ordering, since I pre-ordered my bundle back in summer, ensuring that I was able to get my bundle.

  • In the future, make sure to pre-order the games and accessories that you can safely expect to be big sellers. The other nice thing about that is that you pay it off gradually before the game comes out. I had my $100 Smash bundle fully paid off before it was even released, so all I had to do was go and ick it up! It's like layaway, but in advance. Very handy!

  • In my area, Wii Fit Trainer seems to be the most "rare"... when I saw the price of Villager begin to rise on Amazon, I ordered Villager to pick up at my local Walmart. Easy peasy! Marth seemed readily available. Fit Trainer looked lonely being the last on the shelf. Scooped it up. Online said it wasn't available. BOOM! Mine!
