  I'm complaining she is a Marth clone, because Marth has had 3 goes. Now it is a new reps turn and Lucina fits the bill. They would also need to change her moves more anyways so she just isn't "the new marth". And yes, I guess I am just asking for Awakening characters, but we have had, again, Marth 3 times, and Ike 2 times now.

  Marth is the main character of the original game, so I think that him being there three times is an acceptable gesture... and Ike is iconic as well. I just don't think the team would ever think of putting reps from a series and have them all from the same game, especially since Marth and Ike are more recognizable than Chrom and Lucina, even to non-Fire Emblem players...   (continued) ... If you're asking for Awakening characters, you got them. There's no need to complain about Marth or Ike being in the game. The Awakening characters are on the roster. I know you think it's a shame that Chrom isn't a playable character, but there ARE Awakening characters who are just as good as him in Smash Bros now.

  Of course they are more recognizable! Because they have been in several smash games now. That means they can't give Chrom that same chance? And again, Marth might be the series face, but Awakening saved the series it's entirety. I wouldn't mind keeping Marth if Lucina was different, but even then Lucina is the Marth of Awakening. She dressed up as him for pet-sake!

Who's to say Lucina won't eventually replace Marth in future Smash games? Who CARES. They will BOTH have their chance in the spotlight.   ... she's not a clone, there's no problem. If her move set doesn't change so she can eventually replace Marth, there's no problem. It's not like Lucina and Marth both being in the game is going to ruin it.

  When Lucina is a clone, then there is no point to play as her, therefore is a worthless spot taking up space on the roster. She needs to be unique. That is that. If she was, Marth would be fine (somewhat). And I do hope her move set gets changed.

  They're not just going to immediately trash Marth because someone similar in a game appears. That's not how it works. Even if she is a clone, her being on the roster gives players the option of playing as another character, because maybe people like Lucina more than they like Marth. It gives people options. Also, I doubt she's going to be exactly like Marth so you can rest easy.

  They scrapped Roy because he was similar to Marth (as well as to increase FE popularity in the west). They scrapped Pichu, Mewtwo, and more. Just trashed them, like you are saying they can't do with Marth and/or Ike. Yes they can just trash them, and while people might get upset, It opens up more opportunity for Lucina. I mean people are still clamoring for Mewtwo. In reality...

  ...they can go back and play the older games if they want to play as Ike or Marth. They even have 2 options when it comes to Marth. Therefore you get to play as the character you like in the older games, while giving advancement to characters in new games. They can't just keep the old or nothing will evolve! If Lucina is just like Marth, no new play style will emerge.

  Okay I am not reading that wall of text but. C'mon guys be friends! discuss not argue. If anyone wants to know WHY Marth was chosen then I'll tell you and maybe this will help. Marth is the grandfather of Tactical Strategy games. Or revolutionized the genre. Marth will ALWAYS be in the game because he is an important milestone in gaming history, much like mario and sonic.

  @YebopBebop In that sense, yes you are right. But it all boils down to Lucina and her being just like Marth. If she wasn't, I wouldn't want Marth out so bad. I'd still a little because Lucina is the female Marth, but the move sets would be different giving me a reason to play as both characters. That doesn't seem to be the case though. While I like Marth I'd like a new face if it has to be thatway

  But you see, Marth is ORIGINAL. That is why Roy was scrapped. Pichu was like Pikachu. Who's more popular? Pikachu. They're giving characters a chance to stand on equal ground, so to speak, to see which characters are liked more and which aren't. So it doesn't matter if Lucina and Marth are both in the game. They're both great. I'm done arguing now. I don't know why this happened because of a joke.

  It happened because you can't get the fact that I'm fine with all the characters as long as they are unique, and Lucina isn't. Since she is just like Marth though, I'd just rather see a new face then one I can see in two previous games! And they obviously aren't giving Lucina a chance to stand because she isn't unique, and from your argument, if you had to chose one, it looks you'd choose Marth.

  I liked your joke, I even yeahed each of the drawings, I found it funny. But I overall found the trailer horrendous! How an I twisting your worlds. And I have been listening to your point. You're basically saying who cares if they are similar, let them both be there so they can stand on eqaul ground and the the fans of each play who they prefer. I disagree with that though...

  returning to your "let them both be in" argument because of this and that, when ultimately, if they are both in and they same then they are one, therefore one of both are taking up space on the roster for that reason. Simple solution I hope they address. Make Lucina unique, but you still apparently side for, if to chose one, chose the iconic player that you can already play as in older games.
