    It's a vague hint, but if you look closely at the image, a Triforce can be seen on the hill Sonic is running on.

    I just thought it was there just for patterned soils like all the classic Zones: checkers for Green Hill Zone. Triangles for Palmtree Panic and Tropical Resort Zones. Ovals for Mushroom Hill Zone.
